Lifegroup Parties!

One of the highlights of our week EVERY week is Wednesday night!  We meet together with our lifegroup, where we eat and hang out and then Wade leads our Bible Study!  Occasionally, we host it at our home, but usually we meet at Kelli and Troy's home which, conveniently, is right next door!  It is sooooo wonderful and such a blessing!  It's SO encouraging to have such sweet friends that all love the Lord and want to share His love with our community!
Every meeting, we have a food theme and everyone brings something that relates to that theme.  This past Wednesday, the theme was the letter "L" for the newest member of our lifegroup, Landry!!!  If you have seen the latest Southern Living, you know there was an incredible Lemon Cheesecake on the cover and when I saw it, I was sold...
So even though it took 3 days to make, it was worth.every.minute.
Here is the final assembling steps!
This is the crust... that chilled for 24 hours...
and the filling that then had to chill for another 24 hours!

 The incredible lemon curd covering...

... and candied lemon slices on top!!
I was beaming when I set this out!  I was so proud of it and I'm so glad everybody loved it!!!
Funny how it takes 3 days to make, but only 3 minutes to consume!!  :))

The following Friday, we had a crawfish boil out at the house!  Here is Brother with his crawfish jammies on, getting ready for his big night of boiled crawfish and shrimp pizza.

Not only does Vannie live in these princesses dresses, she sleeps in them, too!
I'm lucky to get them off of her for bath time!

Daddy arrived with the crawfish!!!!!

Insert your own karate chop words here.

Dinner!!!!!!!!  Yum??  Haaa!
Pretty, pretty princesses...  standing 5 feet away from the "ewww, yuckyyyy" crawfish!

Shanny was excited!!!!!!!  :))  Everybody was pumped and couldNOT wait to chow down!  We had a whole ice chest full of the potatoes, corn, sausage, and mushrooms that would have been amazing by themselves!  Just ask me...  I had 6 leftover corns for lunch yesterday!  Hahaa!!  They are STILL unbelieveably delicious!  I couldn't put them down!
This was the first time that Wadie boiled crawfish by himself and I can't tell you how many people said it was THE BEST crawfish they have ever had!  I think he was dubbed, "Master Chef," by the end of the night! It was absolutely incredible and I was SO proud of him!  We are already planning our next one... in like 3 weeks.  We are obsessed.  :)

Our lifegroup plus a few extra friends!!  What a fun night!!!!
We absolutely LOVE doing life with these people!

The other day, I found this website that showed fun activities to do with your preschool-age children!  I looked at a few of them and since I had all the supplies on hand for this one, we tried it out yesterday!  Here are the babies, creating a "space helmet" with pipe cleaners and a colander....

Ready for take off!!!!!!!!!!  :))))

Passing the crown on to Sissy!!  Ha, they loved this game and it actually held their attention for a whole....  ten minutes!  :)

Last, but not least, what do you do when it has rained and rained all day and suddenly there is a break in the weather??  Put on your rain boots and splash in the puddles, of course!!!!
Brother discovered this little trick all on his own and I couldn't help rushing back inside to grab the camera!!  So funny!  So cute! Such a boy! :)

Sister thought it looked fun, so she joined in for a second... until Brother splashed mud on her Tinker Bell dress.  Then it was not so fun anymore.  She is me.  Hahaha!!
And I love how Brother NEVER has pants on!!! Ahhhhh!!!
Two words::
Pure. Bliss.

A Trip to the Mall... with LANDRY!!

Here's a quick and fun little post about Landry's first shopping trip to the Alexandria Mall!  She asked all her little friends to come join her for a little Chick-Fil-A and play time.
As shown by the picture below, our kids are pros at that kind of thing.  ;)

These two fight like brother and sister...
and are inseparable like brother and sister.
What a cute pair!

"Here! We can pose at the top of here and you can take our picture, Lissie." - Rylie

Such sweet smiles!

Landry Girl!!!

Silly face!!

Landry is such a sweetie and we can't wait for more play dates with her!!  Maybe she will enjoy rides on the garbage bins, too...??  ;)

Love doing life with these two!!

Hurry up, Baby Brother!  You have lots of squeezes waiting for you!  :))

Emory Grace Mackey

On January 29, 2013,
my best friend delivered her best friend...
Miss Emory Grace.
She was the cuddliest, sweetest, and most precious little beauty and
my arms were ACHING to hold her.

Emory with her most favorite Aunt Lissie...

Emory's daddy was SO sweet!  He played games with the kids so that I could just sit and snuggle my newest little girl!

Isn't she a doll?!?!?  She is the picture of health, praise the Lord!

Sneaky smilessssss!!!!  :))))

I ADORE seeing Meg as a MOMMY!!!!  It makes me so happy, and more importantly, I see how happy it makes Megan!!  This is such a sweet time and I'm so thankful Jesus designed our to lives to intertwine so perfectly so that I could be a part of this special moment in Meg's life!

I mean, seriously?!?  Couldn't you just kiss those cheeks off?!?!?
And those perfect lips!  Ahhhhhh, I love her!!

I'm sad this picture is blurry, but this was so precious!!  Andrew was standing next to the bed, just staring at Emory!  He loves her already!  Can't wait for their wedding in 30 years!!  :))  And I love Van and Justin in the background..  SO cute and such a foreshadowing of what's to come for him and his Emory!

Here is a picture of Megan visiting me in the hospital the day I had Andrew....

I remember how much that meant to me and I'm SOO glad I was able to visit with Meg in the hospital with her first baby!!! It's such a priceless moment that passes by too quickly!!!

Love. Love. Love.

So thankful for this beautiful baby girl who is such a blessing to me and my family already.
Emory, I'm ready for slumber parties whenever you are...  ;)
And so the journey begins....
Congratulations to my Mackeys, party of THREE!!!!!!  :)))))))

Happy Birthday, Boys!!

On January 17, 2013, my little Andrew Paul turned TWO! I'm not sure how that happened... wasn't he JUST born only 2 DAYS ago???  Time has flown by and my baby doesn't look like this anymore::
Andrew is the toughest, roughest, sweetest little man in the world!  He follows in Sister's footsteps, imitating EVERYTHING that she does.  He has the cutest little personality..  all smiles and giggles and rarely gets upset (even after falling out of the buggy.. TWICE.  Yikes.)  He loves to snuggle, but only until about 7:30 AM.  Then he is ready to put on his green froggy boots and tromp around in the mud.  Nothing makes him happier.  Unless there is a truck he can fill with dirt or a plane he can watch in the sky. :)
He usually goes by the names, "Brother" or "Baloo" or "Balookeys" and I love that!! He loves giving 'dukes'..  and it kinda looks like he was born giving dukes in that picture!  Ha!  Currently, our most exciting play time activity is making up Jimmie James stories...  Jimmie James is a pirate that lives in the wall at our house and sometimes we need to hide under the covers or bang on the wall, depending on what time of day it is.  Andrew lovessss when Jimmie James is home and we loooove seeing his huge eye balls and his excited whispers when he is pretending that Jimmie James is just around the corner...  ;)
He is my precious little boy, my "humble warrior."  We are already praying for his heart, that he come to know and love Jesus at an early age, bravely sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ as he grows up.  He reminds me so much of Wade..  he has the sweetest heart and is so kind and compassionate.  It is truly a privilege to be his mom and I'll spend the rest of my life adoring and cherishing him.
Oh, how I love my beautiful boy...
He is my absolute delight.
We planned a trip to the camp at Toledo Bend for Andrew and Wade's birthday! Wadie turned the big 27 on Jan 19!  I could go on and on about how amazing/adorable/perfect he is, but I think we all already know that!  :))  He is the kindest husband, the most precious daddy, and the greatest friend any of us could have ever asked for!  Happy Birthday, my sweet Wadie boy!!!
On the Wednesday night before we left for the camp, we had a small birthday celebration at Chick-Fil-A with our Lifegroup!!  It was so fun and such a sweet memory!
Daddy and Brother are bffs!  Andrew's favorite part of the day is hearing Daddy's truck pull up in the driveway.. then is RACING out of the back doors, screaming "DADDYYYYY!!!!! DADDDYYYYY!!!" He gets ECSTATIC when Daddy gets home and rightly so.. Wadie picks him up, kisses all over him, and then says, "Uhhh ohhhh... I hear a DINOSAUR coming!!" And they come racing into the house, ready for dinner and a few wrestling matches before bed. It. is. the. best.

Savannah and Andrew get along SO well...  and I am SO thankful!

Here's a picture of our family for Andrew's FIRST birthday...

And here we are for his SECOND!!!

Digging in!
Ohhhhh, icinggggggg!!!!

Nom nom nom!!!  I think Brother loves it!

So proud to call this little man my son!

My heart!
Happy Birthday, my boys!!!!!!!!

This is the first sunset that greeted us on our Toledo Bend birthday weekend!

Haha, poor Cal.  The kids really did LOVE the camp..  they had the BEST time and it was so fun to watch them hiking trails and pigging out on barbequed chicken!  :)

Our second sunset...  stunning.
Our sweet friends and neighbors, Kelli and Troy, got to come up with us for the weekend!
Here we are on Saturday night, frying fish and chicken and french fries!  Delicious!  And healthy!  ;)

The birthday boy doing what he does best:
Wadie's most favorite kind of cake is chocolate. On chocolate. On chocolate.  So that makes my job pretty easy!  I made him the Hershey's Chocolate Cake that's on the back of the baking cocoa box...  it is SO good and is one of our most favorites!!!

Our last day at the camp...
here we are walking one of the trails!
Isn't it lovely??

And this is why you need to go on hikes with men.

Our last sunset!
So thankful for these two!!!

Can't wait until we can take the whole lifegroup up there!!
Beautiful hubby showcasing the beautiful sky!

Vannie loved being in the woods!!

Eating lunch before heading home!
(See the gorgeous magnolia tree in the back??  I WANT ONE!!!!)

We also added a new addition to the family.
Except this one catches mice.  :)
Meet Cocoa/ Coco Chanel/ Cocoa Puffs/ Coconut.
That's Andrew's, mine, Wadie's, and then Vannie's name for our new kitten...
sorry, we are indecisive.
Good thing we can't do that when naming our kids.  ;)
