I planned a little party for our homeschool co-op at our house the day before Halloween and it was a blast for the teacher inside of me!! I had so much fun planning lots of fall games and activities for our kids!
For example, what is a Halloween party without a little Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin?!
Heather gave me the idea for these adorable pumpkin clementines and I found a recipe for this fall drink.. because the punch is always my favorite part!
The kids came in their costumes, which I just loved. Why can't we just LIVE in costumes?!
Here are three princess and their favorite feline!! (Or is that a saloon girl....??) Haaaa, kidding, Erin, just kiddinggggg!) ;))
This mommy made mummy dogs, too! :))
Heather's cutie little pumpkins..
..and Grammie's caramel corn! This is what we grew up eating and is now the reason we can't truly enjoy any type of caramel corn that comes out of a box. Once you've had the best, nothing else can even come close.
My beautiful little Vannie girl!! Thanks, Nanny, for the gorgeous, hand-sewn princess dress!
Can my house please look like this everyday?! I LOVE dressing it up!
Also, balloon banners are my new most favorite thing ever.
Three years later and this banner is still going strong, ha!
Heather, that's all that good lamination for ya!! ;))
Everyone headed outside for some pictures..
How cute are these kids?!
Love these little pumpkins.
Thanks, my Hezzy, for all your hard work!! You made the day absolutely bootiful.
Minus the green snot, this is a cute baby.. who loved his first Halloween party!!
Grammie was amazing and helped take care of all the little children!
Gracie and her sisters were the little girls off of Despicable Me!! ADORABLE!
Oh my gosh, can minions and Spiderman and Cinderellas and Captain America and Margo, Edith, and Agnes lunch at my house everyday?!?
Just a really good shot of my hair for you.. Hahahaa! Setting up our first game!!
Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin!! Andrew was our first competitor:
I'm not 100% sure that Emma Claire was breathing, hahaha!!
And we have a winnerrrrr!!!! Gracie wins!! Gracie wins!!!
Heather, you make such a great Vannah White!
Our precious kiddos!!
Next on the agenda: Pumpkin Races!!
But first, silly faces!!
It was a single file boys vs. girls race..
But based off of this picture here, I did not give directions clearly, hahaha!!
Take your pumpkin, run around Hezzy, and then race back and pass your pumpkin off to the next person in line!
..and off Kaylee Grace went! Seeing her run and fall down, run and fall down in that big princess dress was just the cutest thing ever!
Excuse me, peasants, it is very hard work for me to be carrying this pumpkin AND looking this fabulous!!
Our little Caroline went last, but she ran so fast..
..and got to keep the pumpkin. ;))
Time for a break?? Not a chance.
It was time to decorate Heather's pumpkin cookies!!
Aren't the squeeze bottles ingenious?! That was all Hez.
Love this girl and love her cookie!!
If you want this cookie, you're going to have to go through me first! Ha!!
Beautiful Ireland with his amazing creation!
Cutie little Kaylee Grace!!
Brother's favorite part was eating all of the icing and turning his teeth BLACK, ha!
Jess, these two pics of your gorgeous Gracie were too good and SO sweet!
Winner of the Pumpkin Spirit Stick AND she caught an apple!!
Last, but not least, it was time for Bobbing for Apples!!
This is the game our littlest toddlers loved the most!!
I spy Kate LICKING the apple!! Sure hope I get that one!! Hahaha!!
Down Jude goes!
He got one!!!
I love this shot!!
Finally, before everyone left, they got to dip their hand in the bucket and keep whatever creepy, crawly thing they pulled out!
It was such a wonderful day and made me appreciate all of our children, the impressionable age they are right now, and the simplicity and sweetness of the homeschooled life.
Later that night, we had lifegroup and Mom made these pumpkin cookies!! This was another recipe I remember eating growing up.. have I mentioned how nice it's been to have my parents so close by?! Especially when Mom bakes and brings over sweet treats like this?! I followed her example from years ago and carved out a pumpkin to serve the pumpkin dip out of.. so.much.fun.
My 6-going-on-16 year old.
The next morning, I happened to wake up as the sun was rising. Which seriously never happens, so I had to take a picture, ha! But truly, how serene and peaceful is this??
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning.
Great is Your faithfulness." - Lamentations 3:22-23
Thank you, Lord, for new mornings with new mercies.
Ironically, this ended up being all of the Halloween partying we did, as our Trunk or Treat celebration got cancelled due to the poor weather. It was enough for this Poole family, though! One good day of saying bootiful, spooktacular, and "mind your mummy!" 50 times and then it's time to call it a wrap. ;))
