Spring Time in Anacoco

Getting up and ready for Monday school while it's still dark outside is HARD work!!  I don't know how people do traditional school so early in the morning every day.. sleeping til 8:30 is one of my favorite perks of homeschooling, ha!!

I'm so glad they have each other to go to school with!!

Another one of my favorite perks??  Taking the day off from school to leave town and have a much-needed visit with Jase, Hezzy, and Kate!!  And for a little b-ball in the Anacoco trees!!

Heather made Mom's Sausage Stromboli for lunch..

..and then we went out to feed the horses their apples!!

Sammy baby was mean-mugging him, ha!

This was Samuel's first time to have Banana Pudding.. and I think it's his favorite!!

Praising Jesus from Whom all blessings flow!!  Hahaa!

We picnicked under the camellia..

...while we watched the kids pet and play with the horses!!

We found a bird's nest in the camellia tree.. this is my favorite way to have school!!

Spring has sprung, y'all.  From here on out, you can find Andrew sitting in a tree..

..or running through the fields picking clover. :))

And look what we found!!

So then the hunt was on for everyone to find a 4-leaf clover!

Grant just pulled up the whole patch, hahaa!!

This may be my most favorite spot in your whole yard, Hezzy!!  So dreamy!!

I feel like this has been the longest winter EVER.  While winter has always been my favorite season, this year has been a challenge and my love for it has waned dramatically.  Instead, I have longed for warmth, signs of new life, and the peace of soul that comes from being outdoors with the Creator. And Hezzy, Anacoco delivered!! Picnics under your camellia with a cup of French Vanilla coffee.. I can feel myself relaxing just at the thought of it.  The sun is bright and shining and warm again, y'all..  Thank you, Father, for spring!!

Our Valentine's Weekend

This year, we planned a quick trip down to Thibodaux on Valentine's weekend!!  A long-time friend of ours was getting married and it was a perfect time for a little getaway!!

Before heading out of town, Wade grilled for us.. and had his boys come out and help him.  Since they had already had baths, I made them sit and be still, ha!  And Savannah, being so cute, wanted to make them very comfortable!!

Precious boy, curled up with his Mickey. ;))
We start teaching them the ways of the grill early around here!

The morning arrived and it was time to get packed up and ready while Daddy was at work..  While I was busy getting things done, the kids were outside playing!

And by playing, I mean taking dives into the ditch. :/

But how could a mom stay upset when her littles are this cute?!

When they broke into Mommy's eyeliner and used it for war paint, however, it was ON.

Once we got to Thibodaux, these two had such a fun time playing on Abigail's bike/go cart ride!!

Best little buddies!

Sweet sister rode Grant around, too!

Barefoot in Cajun country and laying in the street. Because that's how we do.

Beautiful Vannie Baby!!

I love how much my kids love each other.  They fight and pinch and argue, too.. but when it comes down to it, they genuinely love each other!  When Brother's ticket was not picked for several weeks at Monday school and Savannah had already won a door prize, the second time she won, she went straight to the front, brought back a toy sword, and handed it right to Andrew.  She said, "I knew you would love this.  I've already won a prize.  This one's for you."  Cue the tears!!

My biggest and littlest boys in their matching hoodies!  Love it!!

Nana and Paw were so great and kept our 4 babies while Wade and I attended our friend's wedding!  It is so rare that we get one-on-one date nights, especially ones that require black stilettos!!
It was lovely getting to dress up for a night out!!

We went on our first date this weekend SIXTEEN years ago!  8th grade was a big year for us, ha!!  This makes more Valentine's Days that we've been together than apart.. and it just makes sense. Like peanut butter and jelly.  Or ham and eggs.. We just go together. - Wade (many, many years ago!)
Happy Valentine's Day, y'all!!  With all the love and sweetness going around, let's remember the One who loved us first. Let's remind ourselves that only through knowing Him do we understand what true love really is.

"Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

I love you, my Wadie!!  The last 16 Valentine's have been blissful... Let's do it all again. ;))

Our 1st Skating Rink Adventure

One night, our church had a party at Skateville, our local skating rink!!  I honestly only remember going to one skating rink growing up..  They played bad music and it smelled like smoke, so we never went back, ha!  However, this sweet little local spot played Christian music while our babies enjoyed skating on a rink for their very first time!!

They had these really neat walkers that helped the kids stay up and zoom around on the floor!!

Even Eric and Grant got to skate!!

Alan and Landry came to play, too!!

The kids LOVED. IT.  While I took pictures, they flew around the room.. falling over, but getting right back up to skate around again!  They had such a good little time!!

Forget the skates, Grant just needed the walker!!

Wade rolled him all over the rink like this and he couldn't get enough!!  So cute!!

Sweet boys!!

These smiles were a mile wide!!
I'm thankful for cute little local spots that surprise me and make for new experiences with my family!!  My party of 6 make life
