A few weeks before Thanksgiving, Wade planned a trip for us at Toledo Bend, our home away from home. It was just us and the kids and would be a much-needed break away from the daily grind!!
Poor Grant gets nose bleeds occasionally.. so he enjoyed having tissue shoved up his nostril for the better part of our morning, hahaa!!
Going for walks is one thing our family does best!! There's almost nothing we love more.
...even though Wade almost lost a leg trying to catch Andrew after he sat in the wagon and rode it full-speed down that steep hill!! Ha!! Wild little Mowgli!
One of our first walks there was down to the dock..
The kids found these humongous clam shells!!
How can you not instantly feel more peaceful and calm with a view like this??
Remember God's words.. "Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you rise up." Deut 11:19
We oohed and ahhed over ALL THE BUTTERFLIES. There were sooo many, everywhereeeee! We couldn't get over it!!
We stopped to smell the flowers and count the butterflies!!
See the yellow butterfly Vannie found?!
As we brushed past, dozens of butterflies would fly up and flit around the flowers.. it was remarkable and so pretty!! Of course, I couldn't capture it on camera, so you will just have to come visit and see for yourself. ;))
I spy one big, beautiful, PURPLE butterfly!
A pepper plant!! Isn't it gorgeous?!
We hiked our favorite trail..
..which ends at a beautiful look-out. And you had really better LOOK OUT because there are lots of wild little Indians on the loose!!
Me and my best girl!!
We walked back to the house, where we enjoyed this view until almost sunset..
We decided to walk down to the pier to watch the sun drop behind Texas (one of my most favorite parts!) and look who joined us!!!!!! Hezzy, Baby Kate, and Baby Adam!!!
Love love love watching the sun set over that water!!
Kate and Grant played a little game of hide and seek..
..in his underwear. Hahaa!!
Feeling Baby Adam move all around..
..and giving him kisses!!
Bless His name, great things He has done!!
A little Cajun dancing with Uncle Wadie on the pier in our bare feet..
Does life get any better than this??
Goodnight, sun. See you in the morning.
And what a wonderful morning it would bring!! That post, coming up next!!
