I'm going to need to make a short story long, so bear with me, ha!!  Last summer, I found the most beautiful set of patio furniture at Sam's.  I adored it.. the pretty wicker weave, the fluffy accent pillows, the sturdy fabric that would survive the weather and 4 children..  It was beautiful and perfect and exactly what we needed.

The very teeniest, tiniest, smallest thing was wrong.. the priiiiice taaaag. Of course. Why is the one that you always love the most guaranteed to be the priciest one?!!  I couldn't just shell out the money, it went against my nature.  So I looked around.  Home Depot. Pier One.  Lowe's.  Walmart.  Bed Bath and Beyond.  Even Williams Sonoma, ha!!  I spent all summer looking... and the fall.. and the winter.. Browsing websites, checking for sales, comparing pictures to the one I already loved at Sam's.

Nothing could compare.  Nothing could even come close!!  So after talking to Wade and deciding it was WORTH IT, we decided to get it!!  One year later, we went back to Sam's to make our big purchase.. except then they were out of stock. Grrrrr.  We ended up trying to get this furniture not once, not twice, but THREE times!!

But finally!! FINALLYYYYY!!!!  Sam's loaded us up, we made the trek home, and my most favorite patio furniture IN THIS WORLD was finally here!!!!!!!

Doesn't the box itself just make you so happy?!!  After it was unloaded, the kids used it as a tent, a rocket ship, an office.. it was amazing!!

And about 30 minutes later, IT WAS READY!!!!!

Wade not only said to get the furniture, he said to get whatever else we needed, too.. which obviously meant a rug and an umbrella!!!  Yaaaayyyyy!!!

Can we please spend the rest of our days right here in this spot?!

We spent that whole spring afternoon cozy on the couch, soaking in the blue sky, singing birds, and blooming trees!!  It was sooo comfortable and just as perfect as I had imagined. :))

Our neighbor across the street was the first one to come and sit with us.. and she laughed and laughed that I had made a pitcher of sweet tea just to be able to set it on my new coffee table, hahaa!!  It just looked so sweet and homey to me!!

The following days were a dream.. we read outside, we napped outside, it was just so nice to have a place to SIT outside, ha!!

And on Wade's next day off, we called over our neighborhood besties to come celebrate the new deck furniture with us!!  (Shan, please remember that you turned us down this night!!!! Haha!!)

Wadie grilled, I made chocolate chip cookies (and sweet tea, because, duh..;)) and we had one of the sweetest nights on record.  I had the absolute best time because we had all waited SO LONG FOR THIS!!

This is what dreams are made of, y'all!!

The following Monday, I brought the kids to co-op and afterwards, they left with Jenny to go play.  I came home to find THIS.  Wade had made all of this to surprise me..  He called it, "Bistro on the Deck."  Ahhhh!!  IT WAS THE BEST!!!! We ate, our two babies played at our feet, and we sat oh, so comfortably, dining outside. :))
Lord, let this furniture be a blessing to You!!  May it bring far ones near, serve the hungry and weary, and be a resting place for all who come, energizing and equipping them to do Your work!!

Most Beautiful Rainbow EVER!

On February 21st, there was a rainstorm.  It slowly came to a drizzle as the sun came out and we wondered if there would be a rainbow.  We walked out onto the back deck... and OH. MY. GOSH.  The biggest, boldest, most beautiful rainbow we had all EVER seen was arched across our backyard!!!

It stretched from one side all the way down to the other..

And ended somewhere in the field behind us!!

We could not get over it!!  It was breathtaking!! Thank You, Jesus, for not only keeping Your promises, but sending signs to remind us that You are STILL faithful and true, thousands of years later!!

And with this super spiritual moment upon us, everyone gazing up in awe and wonder, I softly asked the kids, "What does the rainbow remind us of??" And Savannah screams, "THAT THE LEPRECHAUNS ARE NEARBY!!!!!!!"  Hahahaha, you win some and you lose some, I guess!!
Here's my mighty leprechaun hunter, heading off to find the end of that rainbow!!
Rainbows, leprechauns, sunshine after the storm.. what little treasures are sweetly tucked away in our days if we will just take the time to see them.

A Little Valentine's Day Love..

I have to laugh at myself that I even took pictures of Valentine's Day night, because it really all just revolves around food, ha!! We stayed home and Wade made us a beautiful dinner!!

I loved celebrating this day of love with all my little men.. ((Vannie must have been with her cousins!!))

I'm going to have to stop telling Samuel to say cheese because this is the face I get, hahaa!!  Every time!!

Strawberry Shortcake.. Wadie's most favorite dessert by his Lissie. :))

We all got servings as big as our faces and totally indulged.
I love you all, my precious family!! Let's celebrate together ((with VANNIE!)) this exact same way for the next 100 years..

Our Valentine's Day Party!!

On Valentine's Day, we had a little homeschool party out at the property!!

I wanted to get a group of moms and our kids together to celebrate this sweet day of love.. and what better way to do that than with some heart-shaped peanut butter and jellies?!  Thanks, Casey, for all of these wonderful pictures!!

With Heather and Jen's creativity at work, we made out a fun menu and served a light lunch after the kids exchanged valentines!!

Heather made these perfect brownies from Ina Garten!!  (This is such a pretty pic, Case!!)

Before we could eat though, all the kids sat at the picnic tables and decorated their little box to store their valentines in..

Em was so good at manning the kiddie table!!

Malch wanted to know why we were wasting time with stickers and crayons when there were yummy treats to be eaten..

Here are some pictures of our sweet friends hard at work!!

Samuel just enjoyed sniffing his dirty socks... ha!!

And then all of our babies exchanged valentines and candy!!

I'm so impressed with all the pink and red everyone wore!!

Kaylee Grace wanted everyone to come to see her personally to get their valentine, hahaha!!  Cruz didn't mind a bit!!

Hahaa, Shan!!  Look at this little sassy face!!

Once everyone had finished passing out and collecting their treats, Jen gathered everyone around to talk to them about the greatest Valentine of all: our precious Jesus!!

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13
Lord, we are so thankful for You!!  We only love because You first loved us..  What a true Friend and great Savior You are.

And while these two may not have grasped all that Jenny was teaching...

..most everyone else did!!  So glad we have this sweet community of Jesus-loving families!!

We prayed and then it was time for lunch!!!!

Thanks to everyone, we had a table full!!  Pioneer Woman's Strawberry Chicken Salad Wraps, PB&J's, fruits and vegetables, chips, cookies and brownies, water and Fizzy Pink Lemonade.. it all came together to be one lovely and delightful lunch!!

Can we drink pink lemonade like this everyday???

KG was SO excited because she had the "perfect chip" in her bag!! :))

Jen had some Michael Buble' playing and while the adults visited, Briley and Annie played with the speaker, ha!!

Some of the boys played in the ditch with dump trucks and pails..

..and everyone else ran to the back to see Blaze, the neighbor's horse!!

Pure country fun.. does it get any better than this??

Cruz loved seeing the horse..

..and feeding him!!

I just loved this one of Al and Eli!!

Last activity of the day: Sack Races!!

I caught Cruz sharing his sack with Kaylee Grace and thought.. Now this is what Valentine's Day is all about!!!!!!!  So, so sweet!!

Beautiful girl!!

The kids quickly tired of hop, hop, hopping, though and thought up something way easier and just as much fun...

Sack slidingggg, hahaa!!

Our little women.
I had so much fun at our Valentine's Day party!!  It was low-key and simple, but delivered lots of big smiles and adorable memories.  I'm so grateful to walk this homeschool journey with my Christian sisters and to watch our children play, grow, and bond together through simple things like pink lemonade and Valentine's cards.  I am praying that each of their soul's finds rest and fulfillment in Christ alone and that as they mature, they will use their love for Him together to serve a starving world..
Happy Valentine's Day from all our little loves!!
